Résumé : |
Delivery is often described as one of the most painful experiences a woman must undergo in her life. Fortunately, the use of anesthetics such as the epidural has not only greatly reduced the apprehension some future mothers feel when thinking about the day when they will deliver, but also the physical pain that they will have to endure throughout the whole process. This month’s abstract is taken from the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health of May/June 2007. Throughout the text, the author enumerates the pros and cons of epidural analgesia in order to help the mother-to-be make up her mind about the choice she will make. The content of the text is a good example of what an English-speaking midwife would say to a patient… If you have trouble understanding some parts of the text, the words in italics are translated in the vocabulary/expression list. |
