Artificial intelligence (AI) may help significantly in decision-making, performing faster, more consistent ways, data collection, and analysis. However, the use of AI to decide for incapacitated patients has downfalls in addition to benefits. Having an elite deciding on incapacitated patients possibly against their interests is the major issue, not the use of a powerful tool such as AI. While the use of AI is in principle welcome, more accountability is needed for those who will control the AI procedure.
